Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble is the mastery level performing ensemble and represents the highest level of musicianship in the West Forsyth Band program. This ensemble performs a variety of high quality band literature that will also help prepare students for a collegiate band experience if they so choose after graduation. This band will give 4 home concerts each year, perform at special events, GMEA District 9 Large Group Performance Evaluation in March as well as prestigious collegiate invitationals in the spring as opportunities arise. Students have the opportunity to learn from guest clinicians and attend our annual symphonic band camp in early February. Students are expected to maintain a high level of preparation for rehearsals and assessments through independent practice time outside of rehearsals. Private instruction is highly recommended. Participation in GMEA District Honor Band and All-State Auditions are required. Students are selected for the Wind Ensemble by audition and director recommendation only.
